About the Block

The stately homes of Jefferson Avenue were built in the late 1800s and early 1900s for New York City professionals looking for a respite from busy city life. Its brownstone and limestone 3- and 4-story buildings are now home to a diverse and dedicated group of neighbors working together to create a safe and comfortable community.

Our block — Jefferson Avenue between Lewis and Stuyvesant Avenues — is home to what we call the “4G” – four generations of residents who aim to make our block the best it can be.

Our block was featured in New York Magazine in 2005. Read the article here.
